I was in a great shop I found over Christmas buying my latest budgie addition (I'll post pictures later) when I noticed the funniest thing....a budgie running in a hamster wheel!!  It was hilarious to see  yes yes  Many of the other birds were playing on them too...not running inside them like the first budgie but landing on the top and riding around on the outside like a ferris wheel.  I bought two and put them in my two cages so I'll keep you posted on how "the kids" take to it.

My new budgie is a lutino and we've named him Al.  His cute little pink eyes are soooo darling!  He's about 10 weeks old and while I'm not positive bout the sex, I do think Al is a boy...if not...he/she can Alison...hehehe

I'm counting on Al showing the other 13 how to use it...LOL

Here is my latest on his first day (today) in with new cagemates after quarantine

I was inspired by your post and bought one today. Just for fun. Maybe as the babies grow they can take on rat racing! Mine is a rather large affair made of metal, not plastic. The plastic ones I saw were solid without spokes which wouldn't have been ideal for a bird. My budgie boys had a go on in as I put millet in it, but didn't go on after they had finished eating. They weren't afraid of it though which is a good start.
