Hi, I just googled "wet walls inside next box" and there is a thread in U.K.Budgies and I think it is your thread.  There is a reply saying "we have 28 pairs, some have wet boxes some dry, doesnt seem to affect the youngsters.  The boxes are wood".

Have you seen and does that help you.

I am sorry I cant help as I only have 1 budgie.  Hope you and your budgies are okay.

Sounds like condensation from the warmth inside the box and the cold air outside the box. As to the effect it could have, I'm not sure. confused

Hi Sydney, not wishing to spread alarm I think you need to make sure the eggs are kept clean, because the eggs may become sticky and can adhere to the hen, being carried out the nest box when she leaves with obvious results. Some hens are dirty feeders and smother the inside of the nest box with regurgitated food, and  a dirty sour nest box has a greater chance of  disease arising.A hard to solve problem as not disturbing the hen to much has to be considered also.I hope it goes well.Best wishes Reggie.
