When i put millet in the aviary where i house 8 budgies, they will nearly take my hand off, in their rush to get at it, and within half an hour it is gone. I shouldn`t worry about your sparky gobbling it down, budgies love millet. it`s the same when i put millet in my other cages, they will strip in down in a day or two, and thats the breeding pairs. Even my canarys will give it a good bashing, especially in the winter. It will be fine to leave it in the cage.

Sometimes they get a bit of the husk caught in their throat and they strain their necks like they are going to be sick but nothing comes out. It was probably that? I would still keep an eye on her while she is eating the millet so you can pin it down to just that and nothing more serious.
